They say West Lake has it all: awesome international and Vietnamese food, vibrant nightlife, open spaces, well-equipped sports facilities, great access to the rest of the city, and an increasing number of modern apartment complexes.

But there is something that has always been missing on the entertainment front: a cinema. West Lake residents have always needed to make a trip to Ba Trieu or the Cinemateque before it closed. More recently they have travelled to Times City and Royal City, or IPH in Cau Giay.

Fear not, though, West Lake film buffs. Your long wait is officially over!

With the arrival of Kosmo Tay Ho — 2,000 modern residential apartments and a retail alley that is set to become the focal point for the community around Xuan La Street to the west of Lac Long Quan — comes the big screen!

“I have been waiting for a cinema in West Lake since arriving here about six years ago” says Paul Manners, a Lac Long Quan resident who works for an NGO in Hanoi. “It is probably the best news in a long time when it comes to hearing about the developments springing up in West Lake. This is certainly the most exciting for the community, along with the retail alleys brought by Kosmo Tay Ho.”

The CGV cinema will have hundreds of seats and will show the same programme of blockbusters to that of CGV counterparts across the city. Although it is too early to say exactly what films will be shown at the cinema, 2019 — when the cinema is set to open — will bring a host of film releases that locals are hopeful to see, including Star Wars: Episode IX, Captain Marvel and Frozen 2.

“We are delighted to bring the good news to West Lake residents,” says Le Quoc Huan, the Sales and Marketing Director of Kosmo Tay Ho.

“We have partnered with the largest Cinema Multiplex chain in Korea, CGV, and we are excited to welcome the community to Kosmo Tay Ho to enjoy films on our big screens.”

Kosmo and CGV is set to redefine the entertainment of the West Lake area.

West Lake’s CGV at Kosmo Tay Ho is slated to open with the development in Q2 2019.
