For Men. Around Hanoi, you will often notice men getting haircuts at streetside barbers. You know the ones; a small mirror hung from a nail in a brick wall or tree and a simple barber’s chair. The price of one of these haircuts ranges from VND15,000 to VND30,000 — and no, that is not a typo!

If you are wary of roadside haircuts, just generally prefer a real salon experience, or the weather is just not ideal for an outdoor haircut on the day you need one, there are many salons on Xuan La Street near Kosmo Tay Ho apartments. Most do not need appointments and charge between VND50,000 and VND250,000 (see below).

For Women. There are a number of hair salons for women near Kosmo Tay Ho that offer a range of services. From a basic cut and shampoo to a blowout with styling, you can be sure to find a salon that suits you.

A basic cut and shampoo will set you back somewhere between VND200,000 and VND400,000 — nowhere near what you would pay back home!

Hair colouring costs a bit more, but prices depend on the colour and length of your hair. Head over to your preferred salon for a quote.

Nail shops are generally for the girls, but hey, some guys could really do with a pedicure. Whether you want a simple shape up or an extravagant pattern, there are plenty of talented nail technicians around Hanoi.
